Buffalo Beer Week, Mister Falcon!

Buffalo Beer Week starts two weeks from tomorrow. That may seem like a lot of time, but when you consider how many great events there are, how much planning you’re going to have to do and how hard it is to get a time turner on short notice you’ll be happy I’m providing this much notice.

To start: our Beer Week specialty beers.

In C
American Pale Ale, 4.6% abv
Before Frank, there was In C. Unfortunately we couldn’t source enough Citra hops to make this a regular offering. In C is a bit brighter and fruitier than Frank with lots of tangerine zest.

Blonde Roots
Belgian Blonde, 6.6% abv
Brewed in collaboration with some of our homebrewing friends, Blonde Roots uses organic Amaranth to add some nutty and herbal character to this rounded Belgian blonde. Chris Groves, one such homebrewing friend, even made an awesome poster for it.

Batch 100
Black Ale, 6.0% abv
Five months in and we’re already on batch 100. Thank you! Not quite a Schwarzbier, this Black Ale has a clean roast malt character and pleasant hop bitterness.

We’ve also gotten around some, and have worked on two other collaborations with local breweries you may have heard of.

Down By The River Belgian IPA, a Flying Bison/CBW joint; and

Lord Lupulin, a west coast style IPA starring Pearl Street, CBW, Gene McCarthy’s and Big Ditch.

Do we have your interest yet? Good. Now then, where can you get these fine offerings?

Friday 10/26
Brewed in Buffalo Release Party
Location: The Adam Mickiewicz Library & Dramatic Circle
Time: 7-10
CBW and other local breweries will be showing that sharing is caring and friendship is magic.

Saturday 10/27
Blonde Roots Launch
Location: Gene McCarthy’s
Time: 12-3
After the Light Side of the Beer homebrew competition has been judged, McCarthy’s thought it would be prudent to tap our CBW/homebrewer collaboration.

Micros @ Marcy
Location: Marcy Casino, Delaware Park
Price: $40 advance, $45 at door
Time: 4-8
Buffalo Beer Week’s beer festival sounds like a great event for the beer lover.

Sunday 10/28
CBW Pizza Plant Tap Takeover
Location: Pizza Plant (Transit)
Time: 5-8
This is the only event where you can be guaranteed to get all of our Beer Week Beers (though not the two collaborations) as well as our regular offerings.

Monday 10/29
Fat Bob’s launch party
Location: Fat Bob’s
Time: 6-12
Come get some CBW with your BBQ, today and in the future!

Thursday 11/1
Beer Mob at the Nortel
Location: Nortel Grill
Time: 7-9
Similar to a cash mob, show up en masse at a local bar and have a pint or two! Dan will have a prototype copy of the Pint Craft card game to play as well!

Keep in mind that these are only the events involving us! There’s plenty more beer to be had so, as my father in law likes to say, if you’re thirsty it’s your own fault.
