(that’s actually a lie: the pie is still baking)
Hello, dear reader. Is it still Thursday? If so, what are you doing? Stop reading this and go back to stuffing your face with your family.
There. Didn’t you have a good time with them? Now we can get on with the news.
Deals, deals, deals
Chances are, you’re reading this on Black Friday (which I tell my son is when we send all the bad girls and boys to The Wall). We don’t have doorbusters, we don’t have deep deep discounts, but we do have some sales that will last you until Christmas. Gift baskets! Buy one for the beer lover in your life (this includes you). You get a discount, they get a nifty wicker basket! Plus: for each basket over $30 you buy you get entered into a drawing to win a prepaid growler card ($100 value). I mean, you’re basically losing money by not buying them.
We’ve also got the Great Keg Sale of 2013 going on: sixtels (1/6 bbl kegs, 5.16 gallons) are $80 ($10 off). You can choose from Frank, The Whale, De Maas and Stout Affective Disorder (IPAs are, as always, sadly off limits). If we have a keg available you can grab it at retail, but if there’s something in particular you’ve got your eye on you should send us an email: we can hold it for you on whatever date you’d like. There’s also a refundable $30 deposit, and we have taps available for rental as well.
Beer, beer, beer
The ceaseless parade of beer marches onward!
There is still some Singularity (Centennial) and Heatrays available at the brewery. I tapped the final retail sixtel of Heatrays last night, so if you’d like some to go with turkey sandwiches or what have you then you might want to come in Friday.
Stout Affective Disorder, being our winter seasonal, will be around well into 2014. But don’t you think it’s a stout kind of day?
Here’s the news you’ve been waiting for, though: The Double IPA will be returning on December 9! It will go out to bars then and be available at retail that week. We’re only making one batch of this a month, so you don’t want to sleep on this.
And then there’s Singularity. Since we use the same malt bill in each batch, changing only the hops, the real insight comes when you can taste different versions close enough together to remember their characteristics. As such, before Singularity (Centennial) is even gone we’re announcing Singularity (Falconer’s Flight). Look for it before Christmas.
CBW… Live!
The second week of December is shaping up to be very exciting. In addition to the return of The Double IPA, Tuesday the 10th is the launch of the Bringer of Nuclear Fire at Sterling Place! You’ll be able to get some of our imperial milk stout with chili peppers and, if you’re so inclined, cheer the player of your choosing on to victory as we play the final game of Risk Legacy.
If you simply can’t wait that long to see my smiling face, I’ll be staffing a tasting at Premier Gourmet this Saturday! Stop in between 1 and 3 to try some beer.
And, finally, if you haven’t seen it yet: our first commercial! Produced by Dominic Luongo with music by the Skiffle Minstrels. we think it’s just dandy.
