This weekend is the ever-fun Belgium Comes to Cooperstown at Brewery Ommegang. You might remember last year, when I went and had a spiritual experience with a ferris wheel. Or something.
This year, regrettably, I can’t go. No, no, it’s fine, everyone can have fun without me! I’ll be manning the fort back home which is even more fun than going to a beer festival when you think about it1. You might remember last year we had to truncate our retail hours due to BCTC, but not this year! We’re going just as strong as ever.
If you’ll be at the festival, come stop by for some Rutherford B. Haze and… Tripod.
Tripod
Whether you’ll be at BCTC or not, use this weekend as an opportunity to get your hands on some Tripod!
If you’ve been remiss at visiting the brewery recently you might not know what Tripod is. We brewed a Belgian style Tripel, then aged it in barrels that once held Buffalo Distilling Company‘s One Foot Cock apple brandy. We’ll be pouring it in Cooperstown this weekend, but if you’ll be here with me I can also fill a half growler for you! And yes, it’s half growlers only, for $9.
There isn’t much of it, however, so stop down sooner rather than later!
The rest of the beer
In addition to Tripod, at our brewery this week we’ll have all five of our regular beers: Frank, The Whale, De Maas, The IPA and Rutherford B. Haze. Come enjoy the variety!
Win tickets to Riot Fest
We love music here at CBW. When some people from Riot Fest stopped by our tent at Bidwell and showed us their flier my response was, and I quote, “I want to go to there.”
They were nice enough to give us two sets of two-day passes for the Toronto festival! It’s September 6-7 in Toronto, and if you’d like to enter you have two ways to go about it:
Come into the brewery and buy a growler, then write your information down on a slip of paper and put it into our Official Contest Receptacle
Take a selfie of yourself with a CBW beer (or with a CBW glass or shirt) listening to a band playing Riot Fest and tweet it at us with the hashtag #riotfest or post it on our Facebook wall

Surprised that CBW isn’t going to Brewfest. Was introduced to your beer there last year.
Unfortunately there are just so many of us! While we’d like to do everything we only have so much time and beer, and so we had to skip that one. We’ll be at the Ballpark Brew Bash next month, though!
