Starting this Thursday, June 18, we’re inviting you to join us in raising money to support LGBTQ+ youth in the WNY area.
From June 18 through the end of the month, you’ll see a donation option whenever you pay for your beer—online or in-person at our brewery or at any CBW pop-up event. To kick things off, we’re starting the donation pool at $500 and will match your donations, up to $1,000.
100% of these donations will go to GLYS of WNY. GLYS of WNY provides a safe and positive environment for LGBTQ+ youth to learn more about themselves through peer interaction, and educational experiences. GLYS of WNY strives to create opportunities for emotional growth and community awareness through a variety of social and wellness programs.
According to the National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health—published by The Trevor Project in 2019–everyday challenges that LGBTQ+ youth face across the country include suicide, feeling sad or hopeless, discrimination, physical threats and exposure to conversion therapy. -1-
LGBTQ+ youth of color, particularly Black transgender and/or non-binary youth are at an especially high risk of depression and suicide, and often lack adequate resources for psychological or emotional counseling. -2-
If you are financially able to, please consider making a donation with your purchase of CBW beer online, or at our brewery and pop-up events. Your donations will assist GLYS of WNY in their mission to support LGBTQ+ youth in our area. We proudly stand with our LGBTQ+ employees, family, and communities, and aim to provide a safe and welcoming space for all craft beer lovers to come together over a pint. Thank you for joining us in this mission! 🏳️🌈 🖤
